Toronto - The Gallery Players of Niagara Present - Mozart + Beethoven = ? @ Heliconian Hall

  • Heliconian Hall 35 Hazelton Avenue Toronto, ON, M5R 2E3 Canada (map)

Did Mozart and Beethoven ever meet in person? This is a hotly debated question amongst scholars that will probably never be entirely resolved. If they did, it could only have been in 1787, during the young and impressionable Beethoven’s first trip there. They will definitely meet spiritually as we play one of Mozart’s quartets dedicated to Haydn and a Beethoven quintet sometimes described as an “orphan” work, although it was lovingly adopted by the 19th century violinist, Joseph Joachim!

Program: Wolfgang Amadè Mozart's K.465 in C major “Dissonance” and Beethoven’s rarely heard String Quintet in C major, op. 29, with guest Cristina Prats Costa.

The Gallery Players is proud to offer a pay-what-you-choose ticket option at the door of our concerts as part of our commitment to creating an inclusive chamber music community. $40 suggested.
