Toronto - The Gallery Players of Niagara Present - Jadin, Haydn, and Mozart - Part 2

  • Heliconian Hall 35 Hazelton Avenue Toronto, ON, M5R 2E3 Canada (map)

Hyacinthe Jadin is one of the least familiar names from post-Revolutionary Paris. A remarkable talent whose life was cut tragically short at 24 years of age by tuberculosis, his quartets Op. 3 date from 1798, and they presage the romantic wave that would cover European music in the next 70 years – not bad for a 22 year old! We will also be presenting one of Joseph Haydn’s stupendously masterful Op. 71 quartets, as well as one of Mozart’s quartets dedicated to Haydn.

The three string quartets for Part 1 of this exploration: Hyacinthe Jadin's op. 3 no. 2 in E major, Joseph Haydn's op. 71 no. 2 in D major (Hob. III:71), and Wolfgang Amadè Mozart's K.421 D minor.

The Gallery Players is proud to offer a pay-what-you-choose ticket option at the door of our concerts as part of our commitment to creating an inclusive chamber music community. $40 suggested.
